Now there is a lot of controversy and reasoning about education, I will not criticize someone, but tell my thoughts about something else - that in my opinion is higher education.
I will say it in advance - I finished it myself. With Honours. Without any "connections" there, I even wrote a thesis by myself. I walked around, pestered people with questions, but everything himself - so, at least as it looks, I do not know by hearsay.
School life was a nightmare for me. Strict form, constant control, no! I will repeat NO! Freedom of opinion and constant restrictions, especially movement. I do not know how it might please, but this is a strange fact, someone liked the school with its framework, but I was always against it for what I always had to answer. More often than not marks. No, I was not an excellent student and I was not a clever guy either - I can not complain about the injustice of the system for being such a clever beauty, and the Chaldeans gave me some estimates of low rates due to the fact that I had a personal opinion . I learned very little, I do not know science. (Have you noticed errors in the writing, huh?)
I do not know why the system is built like this, but I understand its principle. The main goal of secondary education, I think, is to make a child of an average person. A typical, average person with some basic set of knowledge and quality. Ideally - it should be good qualities, in practice - not at all.
After eleven years of exhaustion, I find myself in a university where I can hear a phrase - we do not care what and how you will teach. For us the result is important. Do you understand what this meant for me? Do not retreat 4 cells from the previous topic, or begin the abstract with a red line. No homework or other labuda in the form of control and other things. (If you began to think that I will only talk about freedom here, then get ready - the introduction is finished)
The main meaning of higher education is that it is a secondary education +1.
Now the universities themselves determine what, how and where to teach them. But if you take the first two years out of the four-year period, it seems to me that they are all the same. Namely - general education.
There is the same skeleton of sciences, but now it is an order of magnitude more complicated. Mathematics becomes the highest (with the same mathematical analysis and statistical methods) biology becomes genetics, and drawing - engineering.
And now imagine. The school prepared a middle-aged man from us. Which as it were "should be able to enter a university", but when entering there, he needs to become higher than the average person. Become a supreme man. And then the university abolishes all the rules and gives the opportunity to gain knowledge not closed. Moreover - he gives you a chance in the framework of joint training time and will learn something.
And if before you were a man, now you will become a "specialist". Specialist - I think this is like a category of different people. Well, as in the science fiction films, different aliens, and experts - different, just in one country.
But, why, if earlier we were all, like a carbon paper, wrought out the same, the school system, now we can become someone not average? I will answer this question in the next message, but in order not to torment you, I will say at once - the opportunity to evaluate the already different, but not the same information.
